Barbara Aeschbacher was born in Zurich in 1970 and grew up there and in the Fex Valley. She completed her law studies in Zurich and worked for the federal and cantonal governments in the area of migration for ten years. She "experienced" a literal broadening of her horizons during two years and 100,000 km in Africa. For the next twelve years, as Managing Director of the Swiss Musicians' Association, she was committed to promoting the interests of professional musicians. Since January 2021 she has been the mayor of Sils with passion. She is also President of ProFex and a board member of Pro Lej da Segl. Her passions include outdoor sports, reading and travelling. She lives in Val Fex with her 13-year-old son.
