So21Jan17:00Merci Chérie: A Hit JourneyPresented by Rainer Moritz

Event details

A hit tour with Rudi Schuricke, Lolita, Drafi Deutscher, Vico Torriani ... and Udo Jürgens

Rainer Moritz heads the Literaturhaus Hamburg. In addition, he is present as a critic, radio columnist and author of numerous books - and as an expert in German Schlager history.

Amusing and instructive, he will guide you through the highs and lows of the hit at this event - starting with Rudi Schuricke's post-war hit "Capri-Fischer", through "Marmor, Stein und Eisen ruptt", "Mendocino" and "Calcutta is on the Ganges" to the great successes by Ute Freudenberg, Andrea Berg and Helene Fischer.

And of course Udo Jürgens, the exceptional artist from Carinthia and later Swiss citizen, who played for world stars like Shirley Bassey or Sammy Davis jr. composed and since his Grand Prix winning title "Merci Chérie" has celebrated countless successes - regardless of whether he sang about honorable houses, Greek wine, creamy cakes or New York longings.

An entertaining and funny occasion that leads into the past and encourages you to sing along.
