Hotel Laudinella reopens: Grand Opening on December 12th in St. Moritz

St. Moritz, December 8, 2025 – With its grand opening on December 12, 2025, the historic Hotel Laudinella celebrates a significant milestone in its history. This history began in 1956 with the founding of the Laudinella cooperative to acquire the Hotel Olympia for the then-popular singing camps. The hotel opened just one year later. To this day, the hotel remains deeply rooted in culture, embracing this cultural heritage through events and as a venue for artists of all kinds.

After more than four years of construction, the hotel has undergone extensive expansion, renovation, and realignment to elevate the guest experience to a contemporary and even more comfortable level. The result is 42 modern suites, 9 exclusive penthouses, a spectacular rooftop spa, 3 newly designed restaurants, 2 bars, and a deli – all under an architectural concept that harmoniously blends tradition, natural elements, and contemporary design. In addition to the modern suite concept, the traditional Engadinerhof area has also been completely redesigned.

New rooftop spa with a unique view

A highlight of the renovation is the new spa area on the roof of the Hotel Laudinella, which, with an outdoor whirlpool high above Lake St. Moritz, two panoramic saunas, and breathtaking mountain views, creates a retreat of the highest caliber. A place to relax, recharge, and marvel.

Serviced apartments and penthouses

Depending on the season, the new suites and penthouses offer the best of both worlds: On the one hand, they combine the independence of private apartments with the comfort of full hotel service, allowing guests to enjoy the convenience of not having to worry about a thing. However, the apartments can also be booked without hotel service as classic holiday apartments. Natural, local materials such as wood and stone create a warm, authentic atmosphere. The spectacular view of the Engadine mountains is included.

Sustainability as a guiding principle

The entire renovation was carried out with a focus on regional, sustainable resources. For example, 1,027 trees used in the construction came from within a 100-kilometer radius to promote local materials. This meant that over 85 million tons of the investment remained in the region. Furthermore, the entire new building was equipped with photovoltaic systems on the facade and roofs, allowing up to 30 million tons of energy to be generated, which can be used directly for the kitchen and spa, for instance. The heating systems are connected to the environmentally friendly lake heating network of Energie St. Moritz, and the building operates completely CO₂-neutrally.

Laudinella – Closely connected with the locals

The continued development of the popular Laudinella Food Universe remains particularly geared towards locals. All restaurants offer a wide range of different menus and prices and are open year-round, providing people from St. Moritz and the surrounding area with a place to meet and explore culinary delights.

„We are approaching a special moment. With the redesigned Laudinella, a place is being created that combines arrival, well-being and wonder. We look forward to personally welcoming guests and locals from December 12th.“
– Christoph Maximilian Schlatter, Delegate of the Board, Laudinella AG
