For some it means a journey back in time to their own childhood, for others it is something like the "sound of the prairie": the soundtrack to the Winnetou films based on Karl May's adventure novels. The German composer Martin Böttcher (1927-2019) created the music for a total of ten films starring Pierre Brice and Lex Barker and made a significant contribution to their great success, especially to that of "Der Schatz im Silbersee": A single with the Old Shatterhand melody, the famous main theme with the great recognition value, sold over 100,000 copies after the film was released in 1962. Record up, sound down - and back are the memories of the overwhelming cinema experience and the noble adventures of the two Wild West heroes Old Shatterhand and Winnetou!
The Graubünden Chamber Philharmonic is dedicated to this legendary film music and plays it live under the direction of Laurent Zufferey to the original film.
