The St. Moritz Dramatic Society will present an entertaining stage magic with depth in November 2024:
The Alpine King and the Misanthrope according to Ferdinand Raimund.
A forbidden love, a feud between servants, an attempted murder - or just a misunderstanding? And then there is the magical hand of a mysterious mountain spirit.
The fairytale comedy about the grumpy Mr. Rappelkopf and his encounter with the strict but benevolent King of the Alps is interwoven with highly topical issues: the loss of trust in society, the lostness of the individual, the healing power of nature. All of this is embedded in the majestic Alpine backdrop in which people today more than ever are searching for and finding themselves.
Director Selma Mahlknecht has carefully adapted Ferdinand Raimund's original text and brought it into the 21st century, while preserving the poetry of the language.
On stage, alongside familiar faces such as Ruedi Maag, Arno Lazzarini, Patrizia Müller, Lidia Poltera and Corinna Ravo, there are also newcomers Claudia Ennemoser, Gioia Müller, Christian Schmid, Simon Schwarz and Roman Nendza. Behind the scenes, our creative team is buzzing around Marilyn Giacometti and Eduardo Monteiro. Andrea Biffi and Simon Baumgartner are responsible for the technical aspects.
