4 pianists on 4 grand pianos play works by Brahms, Beethoven, Rachmaninov, Khatchaturjan, Strauss, Gershwin, Porter and Say. The original versions are reworked by the quartet members for the unusual instrumentation of four grand pianos and thus lead to a new and exciting concert experience. The Gershwin Piano Quartet was founded in 1996 by André Desponds. It presented its program with great success and impressive media coverage throughout Europe, South America, Canada, China and the Middle East. The quartet has been to the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, the KKL Luzern, the Festival de Menton, the Athens Festival, the Baalbek International Festival in Lebanon, the Oriental Art Center Shanghai, the Tonhalle Zurich and the Mozarteo Brasileiro in São Paulo to guest.
