With his huge, contagious temperament, Giorgi Gigashvili inspires audiences and competition juries alike. His unconditional creative drive and his natural stage presence earned the pianist, who was born in Georgia in 2000, various prizes early on. In 2019 he won 1st prize and the Nelson Freire Special Prize at the International Piano Competition of the city of Vigo, chaired by Martha Argerich, and in 2021 he was awarded the Promotional Prize of the Concours Géza Anda as one of the youngest participants, as well as 1st prize at the Kissinger PianoOlymp. Thanks to the mediation of Martha Argerich, Giorgi is currently continuing his studies with Nelson Goerner in Geneva. He can be heard in the Engadin with three key works of the solo piano literature.
