Who doesn't know them, the magnificent hotels of the Belle Époque: Luxurious stays in castle-like buildings, illustrious guests - all this has been researched. But who were the people who worked in these hotels? Where did they come from? What goals in life did they pursue? And what still connects us with them today?
The historian Kurt Gritsch addresses these and other questions in his presentation. Using numerous documents, he shows how tourism and migration were mutually dependent in the Belle Époque. And even today, more migration leads to more tourism and vice versa.
