The two architects Nicolaus Hartmann significantly shaped the appearance of St. Moritz. In St. Moritz Dorf, buildings such as the extensions to the Hotel Kulm, the Hotel La Margna, the Old Schoolhouse, and the Engadin and Segantini Museums were built. In St. Moritz Bad, the most notable buildings are the former French-Calvinist church, the Catholic Church of St. Karl, and the Hotel Reine Victoria. This lecture will explore developments in the work of each individual and the epoch-related differences between father and son.
Dr. phil. Leza Dosch, an art historian in Chur, is the author of numerous studies and publications. The book "Design in Competition: On the Architectural History of Graubünden, 1850–1930" (Scheidegger & Spiess) was published as a study by the Institute for Cultural Research in Graubünden.
