Cantoria do Amor describes a collective from Basel under the direction of Daniel Messina. Musical elements of traditional Brazilian music meet jazz harmonies and improvisation. The lyrics, sung in Portuguese, are usually in the foreground. The group presents its own compositions characterized by samba rhythms as well as popular classics from the Bossa Nova era, which is characterized by strong influences from samba from Rio de Janeiro and American jazz. The band radiates a comfortable warmth and the positive energy of the South American mentality.
