A tenement building in the 1960s, a bunch of lovable eccentrics and a gossip who never leaves anyone in peace: In this turbulent comedy, the curious and scheming Meta Boldt, with her constant observations and suspicions, creates chaos that thoroughly shakes up the community.
Whether it's unauthorized subletting, music that some find lively and others consider noise, or the question of who even follows the house rules anymore – things are really heating up in the stairwell. Even the heavyweight building manager and butcher, Bernhard Tramsen, is slowly losing control.
But amidst the chaos, the pretty tenant Heike has a plan that might just set everything right again: a joint visit to the graduation ball at the Zimbria Rabbit Breeders' Association. Whether this evening will reunite the feuding tenants remains exciting – and highly entertaining – until the very end.
Directed by Lorenzo Polin, the Dramatic Society presents a humorous and lively production that captures both the charm of the 1960s and the timeless wit of the play. The theater hall at the Hotel Reine Victoria provides the ideal setting.
