Event details

Performances from November 12th to 13th, 2026

An imaginative musical fairy tale for children's choir, narrator, alphorn, flute, violin, piano and percussion.

When toys suddenly come to life and an elephant dreams of flying, an extraordinary adventure begins, full of music, imagination, and surprising encounters. Together with his friends, Okavango the elephant tries to make the seemingly impossible possible.

The staged performance combines music, theatre, and projections of the lovingly designed illustrations from the fairytale book published especially for the premiere. In a total of 20 musical pieces – including 11 songs – the children of the choir take turns slipping into a variety of roles, bringing the enchanting story to life on stage with costumes and great enthusiasm.

The performers include the children's choir of the St. Moritz primary school, directed by Rea Sendlhofer, actor Lorenzo Polin as narrator, and musicians from the Oberengadin Music School. The music was composed during a two-year collaboration with pianist and composer Stefano Sposetti. The concept and lyrics are by Hansruedi Strahm.
