A petit four in a pair of tongs or a swirl of sugar and a whip. Dark and piquant, exciting and sad: "Magdalena's Sin" tells of longing, intimacy, friendship, and fantasy in a world full of violence and sexual obsession. The reality of pastry shop assistant Magdalena is rather grim: loss and guilt torment the former prostitute. Her cancer-stricken father is nearing death, and her relationship with a self-proclaimed great author is destructive. While Magdalena's former customers line up at the bakery hoping for favors, Magdalena contemplates suicide and simultaneously demands a miracle—only to ultimately force one to happen.
