Event details

Vico Torriani (1920-1998) was one of the most famous pop singers and entertainers in Switzerland. The Italian opera and especially the works of Giuseppi Verdi and Giacomo Puccini inspired him for his art. Torriani grew up in St. Moritz. In 1945 he won a talent competition, which was followed by engagements across Europe. In the 1950s and 1960s he appeared primarily in music films, operettas and musicals. From the 1970s, the trained chef shone in television programs by singing and presenting his cooking skills. Even if Vico Torriani was always on stage as a pop singer, his role models were Italian opera and the most famous Italian composer for salon songs, Francesco Paolo Tosti. In conversation with Torriani's daughter, Nicole Kündig, these lesser-known preferences of the singer and show master Vico Torriani are highlighted.
