Event details

Literary writing is creation, but not infrequently also processing. The entries for the 17th writing competition over 70 (exclusively for over 70s) on the topic of "anger" were correspondingly exciting. Of the 318 entries from all of the German-speaking countries, the works of seven authors from Switzerland, Germany and Italy received awards: Martin Ahrends, Jürg E. Burkhart, Giorgio Gianesini, Thomas Werner Kaech, Elisabeth Nussbaum, Ute Ruf and Marisa Urbani.

The competition prize consists of a joint appearance at the "Zürich Reads" festival. Then it's off to the Engadin for a week to write new texts under the aegis of author Richard Reich. The seven winners are now presenting these dewy works in a workshop reading in the Laudinella library.

The principle of the "Ü70" competition is simple: any writer who was (currently) born in 1952 or earlier can submit a text on the given topic. The 18th competition on the topic of “ancestors” will run until December 31, 2022. And before you ask: You can understand the word as a verb (to anticipate) or noun (to ancestors)!
