For many years, Claudio Chiogna shaped the Engadin Festival, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2021. It was founded in 1941 by the pastor of Silvaplana, Ernst Schulthess, and his brother Walter, concert agent and composer. They brought greats of classical music like Clara Haskil, Dinu Lipatti and many others to the Engadine. In the 1970s, the Chiognas took over management of the festival - first the father, then the son Claudio. To mark the anniversary, the festival is organizing a homage concert with talks and music.
