With Tango De Amor, the well-rehearsed stage duo Wunsch/Kovačević takes the audience to Buenos Aires, the capital of tango, and explores the winding paths of love in this musical-literary evening.

Which prevents our feelings from taking root, which constantly shocks our thoughts, which prohibits our fingers from patronizingly tapping along to the beat? And which can change completely from one second to the next, attracts and pushes away again, gets stuck only to rush away immediately afterwards, is now extravagant, now cool, now full of joy of life, now full of longing to die?”

In Esther Vilar's novella, the narrator asks herself these questions, not only seeking to understand the vibrant attitude to life that is inherent in tango music, but as a former mathematics professor, she is meticulously researching a mathematical formula for “lasting passion”. To do this, she sets her sights on Chucho Santelmo - one of the most successful tango musicians of all time - and his lover Nina Gluckstein, who are highly prominent in Buenos Aires. The two seem to be able to keep each other and their passionate relationship at the height of love for many years. Nina Gluckstein knows a sure way to bind Chucho Santelmo to her: under no circumstances should she show him that she wants to bind him to her!
