Giancarlo Cattaneo, press photographer and traveler, presents his photos from the Festival da Jazz. With around 60 black and white photos, he tells the success story of this unique jazz festival. What began on a small scale in the wine cellar of the Hotel Kronenhof in Pontresina in 2005 quickly developed into the «Festival da Jazz St. Moritz». In 2008, festival founder Christian Jott Jenny engaged the photographer with a handshake. Since then he has accompanied all performances by the artists in the Dracula Club, the Kulm Hotel, the Hauser Terrasse, the Lej da Staz and the Hotel Laudinella and Reine Victoria with his camera. He captures stars and legends of the jazz world such as Chick Correa, Al Jarreau, Paolo Conte, Diana Krall, Nigel Kennedy and many more in the festival atmosphere at just the right moment. His photographic art transforms the touching live concerts into lasting experiences.
