«Microcosm» is an astonishing documentary film from 1996 about the everyday life of insects in a small patch of meadow somewhere in the south of France. For four years, the directors roamed through a meadow with highly differentiated macro lenses and discovered a fascinating world beyond human perception. As if the viewer himself had shrunk to the size of a microorganism, grass areas appear like impenetrable jungles, water droplets as big as balloons and the miniature main characters like creatures from a fantasy thriller. The Graubünden Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Philippe Bach, plays the music for this spectacular nature film live. This type of performance creates a very special connection between image and sound, which allows the audience to immerse themselves deeply in a mysterious and hidden world. A special cinema evening that appeals to the senses and presents the wonders of nature in an impressive way.
