The singer Dee Dee Bridgewater probably needs no introduction. But what is behind the abbreviation NYO Jazz? This is a National Youth Orchestra, put together by Carnegie Hall in New York, that has sought out talented young jazz musicians (ages 16-19) across the United States. In 2018, the NYO Jazz debuted in Carnegie Hall and then went on a European tour - with Dianne Reeves, one of the great jazz singers of our time was already part of the party. The NYO Jazz is led by trumpeter Sean Jones, who also works successfully in the field of jazz education and who therefore knows exactly how to get young talent going.
