As a child, she tirelessly combed through her Puerto Rican mother's rich record collection. After studying singing, she moved back to New York. As a waitress in a Brooklyn wine bar, she met the Danish jazz saxophonist Benjamin Traerup, they fell in love and eventually married. And so it was that Indra Rios-Moore first became known in Denmark and Scandinavia. Indra Rios-Moore is pursuing one goal with her music: "I want to soothe hearts so that people can calmly think about things that we share and not those that separate us."
