Daniel Müller-Schott: Cello

Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra

Dir. Jan Schultsz

He is a cellist "who plays the stars from heaven": Daniel Müller-Schott has long been one of the greatest cellists of his time, and now he is making his first guest appearance at the Engadin Festival.
The New York Times praised his "intense expressiveness" and described him as "a fearless player with superior technique". Together with the Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of festival director Jan Schultsz, he will perform a work that is particularly close to his heart: Dvořák's Cello Concerto. For him it represents the perfect mixture of extroverted virtuosity and an inwardness that touches deeply. The second highlight of the evening will be the "Symphony from the New World". It was written during Dvořák's stay in America and is probably the most stirring romantic symphony ever.
