In winter, the Julier, Maloja, Ofen and Bernina passes are open for crossing the Alps. In bad weather or when passes are blocked, the Engadine can be reached from the north using the RhB car train through the Vereina tunnel (between Klosters/Selfranga - Sagliains in the Lower Engadine) and from the south through the Munt La Schera tunnel.
Despite the great anticipation, please do not forget to fit winter tires and pack snow chains if you are coming by car from October!
