Travel comfortably – arrive on time. The SBB takes you safely and easily to the Engadine. The journey gets really exciting as soon as you board the RhB Glacier Express in Chur. Travel on the 'slowest express train in the world' via the Albula Unesco World Heritage route and enjoy the fabulous view of the unbelievable natural spectacle of the Swiss Alps. The yellow bus with the traditional triad horn – the PostBus is unmistakable and part of Switzerland's cultural identity. There is a direct connection to St. Moritz from Chur (via the Julier Pass) and from Lugano (through Italy), from the Lower Engadine and Bergell.
All roads lead to the Engadine. Whether from Austria, Italy, Ticino or northern Switzerland - you can reach our wonderful high valley on well-developed roads through valleys, tunnels and over alpine passes.
In winter, the Julier, Maloja, Ofen and Bernina passes are open for crossing the Alps. In bad weather or when passes are blocked, the Engadine can be reached from the north using the RhB car train through the Vereina tunnel (between Klosters/Selfranga - Sagliains in the Lower Engadine) and from the south through the Munt La Schera tunnel.
Despite the great anticipation, please do not forget to fit winter tires and pack snow chains if you are coming by car from October!
