Event details

The 7 winners of the Ü70 writing competition present texts written in the Engadin.

Presented by: Richard Reich & Heinz Helle
Greetings: Vreni Bolt (Foundation Creative Age), Salomé Schmid (Swiss Family), Beatrice Stoll (Jury)

Literary writing is naturally about fiction, but often also about a creative processing of biographical experiences. The texts submitted as part of the 19th Ü70 writing competition (exclusively for over 70s) on the topic of "The Letter" were correspondingly exciting. Of the 480 entries from all over the German-speaking world, the jury awarded prizes to the works of the following seven authors: Bruno Felix (CH), Wera Herzberg (DE), Peter Reul (DE), Theres Roth-Hunkeler (CH), Willi Schwoll (DE), Johanna Sibera (AT), Ruedi Tschopp (CH).

The competition prize consists of a joint performance by the group at the "Zürich Reads" festival. Then they go to the Engadin for a week to write new texts (or work on other projects) under the aegis of the author Richard Reich. At their workshop reading in the Hotel Reine Victoria, the 7 winners present a selection of their works - guaranteed to be as varied as their origins and the backgrounds of their biographies.

PS: The 20th writing competition "Ü70" on the topic of "intoxication" runs until December 31, 2024. The principle of the competition is simple: any writer born (currently) in 1954 or earlier can submit a text on the given topic.
