The Tango Quartett Zürich is a string quartet founded in Zurich. The four musicians, Tanja Sonc, Silviya Savova-Hartkamp, Seon-Deok Baik, and Manuel Nägeli, express their shared passion for Argentine tango. The Tango Quartett Zürich premiered in April 2024, delighting the audience at the sold-out ZKO House as part of the Zurich Chamber Orchestra's chamber music series. The program focuses on pieces by the Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla, as well as tango classics such as "Por una cabeza" by Carlos Gardel and "La Cumparsita" by Gerardo Matos Rodríguez. This passionate music, paired with the passion, virtuosity, and fire of the four musicians, is perfectly suited to warm the hearts of listeners.
