Event details
There are composers who accompany you like old friends – over years, across borders, through highs and lows. For Joseph-Maurice Weder, Frédéric Chopin is one of these companions. His music is both intimate and universal, tender and powerful, melancholic yet full of light. It speaks directly to the heart – and at the same time demands everything from the soul that interprets it. Chopin is a central composer in Weder's repertoire, and many significant moments in his artistic career are connected to his work. For example, it was Chopin's music with which he was privileged to make his debut at the Berlin Philharmonic or the Vienna Musikverein – a formative evening that he will always remember.
His Chopin program has taken him to three continents in recent years—to Santiago de Chile, Berlin, and Cairo—and he is now looking forward to bringing it to Argentina (with five concerts) and Brazil (two concerts) in October 2025. Next year, it will be heard twice in Ecuador, among other venues.
On September 28, 2025, this program returns to the intimate atmosphere of the Hotel Laudinella in St. Moritz – a place whose special atmosphere is perfect for an evening full of poetry, emotion, and virtuosity.
