Event details

Swiss historian and peace researcher Dr. Daniele Ganser will tour the German-speaking world (Germany, Switzerland) in 2026 with his lecture "NATO – A Dangerous Military Alliance". In it, he analyzes the role of NATO, founded in 1949 and led by the USA, which today has 32 member states – including the recently joined, formerly neutral states of Finland and Sweden.

Ganser concludes, based on his own analysis, that NATO promotes war, not peace. He addresses the 1999 attack on Serbia as a violation of the North Atlantic Treaty and the UN Charter, sees NATO's eastward expansion as a trigger for the war in Ukraine and the confrontation with Russia, and refers to Operation Gladio in Italy, in which explosives from secret NATO army depots were used for terrorist attacks and blamed on Italian communists.

Ganser opposes Switzerland joining NATO and advocates maintaining its permanent neutrality.
