Star violinist Daniel Hope and the Zurich Chamber Orchestra take us on a musical journey to the United States of the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. The program features four composers (Weill, Gershwin, Bloch, Bernstein), all of whom came to the USA as immigrants or were born into immigrant families \u2013 and who contributed to that vibrant "melting pot." Also performing are three first-class jazz musicians: Joscho Stephan, Johannes von Ballestrem, and Dimitri Monstein. The jazz trio's joyful playing, in keeping with the American tradition, provides the foundation for this journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
