In 2019 and 2024 he presided over the Graub\u00fcnden government. Parolini was born in Samedan and grew up in Scuol. He is a forestry engineer, has been involved with the language and culture organization Lia Rumantscha and has worked as a journalist. His political career began in 1996 with offices in the municipality of Scuol. From 2000 he was mayor of Scuol and a member of the cantonal council for 14 years before being elected to the government of the canton of Graub\u00fcnden. In his free time he enjoys being out in the mountains.
