Gile Bae, born in Rotterdam in 1994, made her concert debut in South Korea at the age of five. She studied in The Hague and at the Accademia Pianistica di Imola with Franco Scala. She won numerous competitions at an early age, including first prize at the International Steinway & Sons Piano Competition at the age of 15. She played for the Dutch royal family and Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi. In 2018 she was named \u201cB\u00f6sendorfer Artist\u201d. In 2000 she played at the Ruhr Festival at the invitation of Andr\u00e1s Schiff and took part in his project \u201cBuilding Bridges\u201d. In 2021 she played Beethoven's first piano concerto in Ferrara under the direction of Fabio Luisi. She recorded Bach's Goldberg Variations on CD for the second time in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
