For many years he was publishing manager of the Carl Hanser literary publishers and publisher of &quot;Akzente&quot; and &quot;Edition Akzente&quot; and from 2013 to 2019 President of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts. He is a member of various academies and the author of several volumes of poetry, stories, short stories, novels and translations. He has received numerous awards for his literary work, including the Peter Huchel Prize (1986), the M\u00f6rike Prize (2006) and the Joseph Breitbach Prize (2010).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The author has long loved the beauty and the entirely unsentimental understanding of nature in Segantini&#039;s paintings. Knowledgeable, more literary than art historical, he approaches them.
