The Chesa sur l'En in St. Moritz Bad is reminiscent of a fairytale castle with its stately tower, the playful oriels and the elaborate woodwork. In the context of up-and-coming tourism, the chalet embodied the collective dream of a holiday idyll in a sublime mountain landscape. Completed in 1883, the world came to guest. Artists such as Giovanni Segantini and Giovanni Giacometti left their mark and contributed to the total work of art. Built by master builder Nicolaus Hartmann senior together with Alexander Kuoni, architect and owner of a chalet factory, on behalf of the highly respected von Planta family, the Chesa sur l'En has seen a lot over the past almost 140 years. It was a representative holiday home - one of the first in the Engadine -, cooperative hostel, family hotel and is now a private residence.
In this eventful history, the Laudinella cooperative, which acquired Chesa sur l'En in 1957, writes a chapter that is as special as it is exciting.
