Refugee policy and reception practice are among the most controversial aspects of the Second World War in Switzerland. Graub\u00fcnden was confronted with this especially in the years 1943 to 1945 on the southern border. What exactly was the refugee policy like? How did the population perceive the refugees? What were the motives for people fleeing to Graub\u00fcnden? The historian Christian Ruch uses impressive documents and eyewitness reports to illuminate how refugees are treated between willingness to accept and rejection.<\/span><\/p>\n
